You call it a blog.
I call it a journal.

Wilderness explorers

Instead of settling down and watching Mean Girls at Al's house, as was planned, we decided to join CaLea with her brilliant idea to drive up the canyon.
So with imagine dragons on the stereo, a guitar on hand, 3 amazing friends, and a camera, we set off to the canyon to explore.

On a happy note

Dear journal,

Why have I been so downer lately?
I have so much to be happy for!

Math isn't so much a struggle anymore. I'm becoming more social (believe it or not). I have a goofy family to come home to every night. I have no more wisdom teeth! I play a sport that I love, an with girls that I love even more. I have a couple of the best friends anyone could ask for. I'm spiritually fed every B day in seminary. I'm almost done with HS drama. I have a job. Music was invented. I get to listen to people's problems and help them out. And I have the Gospel to fall back on no matter what.
Life is good.
Life is always good, we're just sometimes blinded by the small things.

High school

Sometimes it's great
Sometimes it's not
Sometimes you rock it
Sometimes you fail
Sometimes you fancy someone
Sometimes you hate everyone
Sometimes you have lots of friends
Sometimes you lose your best friend to your other best friend
Sometimes it's just you

Sometimes that's okay.

SOAR

Summer Of Academic Refinement.
sounds like a blast, eh? Not.
but in fact, it totally was.
i've never (ever) been a fan of EFY or anything along those lines mostly because of past experiences, but this summer i got to attend SOAR which was an experience i'll never forget.
its a multi-cultural ACT prep/ Spiritual camp thingy which sounds so odd.. but it was amazing. All week we attended ACT prep classes at BYU-provo and also got to learn new things about eachother's cultures and our futures.
I made about 149 new friends, learned more about my culture, learned about other cultures, learned about college, gained a stronger testimony, and at the end of the week i improved my ACT score.

oh and p.s. i hate efy and stake dances. i quite loathe them actually. but the dance at the end of that week was the funnest dance ever.

campout

us Evans are not campers. at all. but mom had a brilliant idea to invite a bunch of families in the ward to go camping over labor day weekend.
it actually ended up being a blast. luckily my mom has some pretty cool friends. and they have some pretty adorable children.

Ache

Dear journal,
I am currently sitting in Dr. Mcbee's office awaiting him to cause me temporary relief followed by a week of pain. That's right, finally getting my wisdom teeth out.
They hurt.
Lots.
He says my roots are extra mature which causes for a harder extraction and a longer recoup.
Joy.
Worst part? No mom.
Anyways... Wish me luck please. And pray I don't suffer anesthetic awareness.

Bad days

We all have them. It jus feels like I have them more frequently than if like. But its important to remember to not let one thing mess up your whole day.
I've learned that smiling actually works. And serving others takes the 'poor me' right out of ya.You know what else? Slamming balls into the ground is great therapy. (thank you volleyball)
And always remember that no matter what, you are not alone. And the one that is always with you, matters the most. And who cares if it's just you and Him!? He loves you more than you can even imagine. And He thinks very highly of you, despite the fact that you fail him every day.

Things to remember:
Seminary is a blessing
Smile more often
Don't get down on yourself
Be your own best friend
Family is forever
It's cool to go to mutual and YW/YM
The world does not revolve around you
You are loved.
