Up all night like this

I was joined by three lovelies for a one direction filled night last night. Watching the Up all night tour DVD was quite unforgettable with miss Alison seizing every time Harold stepped on the stage, taking pictures with our boys, (we all conveniently have a different boy) watching 'one thing' at least 4 times in a row, taking a cold stone break to cool ourselves off in between videos, and us all agreeing we would be our absolute ugliest when we met them with smeared mascara, passing out and screaming all over the place.

Being a Directioner is one of the funniest things I've ever been.

A night out on the town.
(Or just a trip to chilies and blockbuster)
We decided tonight was a date night.

Complete with: Sun roof, A special needs dance, Texas cheese fries, a cool waiter, fleet foxes, knight and day, and hours of pintrest.

heaven in sin city

it is true. i attended the concert of none other than
ONE DIRECTION.

Now wipe up the puddle of pee you are sitting in and strap yourself in. here is my story of my heavenly weekend in sin city.
Auntie kathy oveheard that i purchsed tickets for 1D in utah when they come in 2013 and decided to be the most wonderful aunt she is, and hook my sisters and i up with tickets to the concert June 9th 2012 at Planet Hollywood in Vegas. Not just any tickets, mind you. I was sitting only 19 rows away from Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. *insert fangirling here*
But we'll start at the beginning. We left, completely ecstatic, on a sunny Thursday afternoon to stay at uncle Larry's house equiped with a guest rooms, (for late-nite fangirling) 2 dogs, (for petting and snuggling) a grand piano, (for freeze dancing) CD players, (for blasting 1D whilst splashing about in the pool) and wifi (for emergency 1D studying and reviewing before the concert.) we had the perfect set up. we were even greeted with a lovely poster:)
Being in beautiful, sunny vegas constituted for some mandatory 'laying-out' and swimming.

We definitely shopped till we dropped (but i'm a wimp, so that means we shopped for about 3 hours) ((not a shopper)) and finally got a sign next to the world famous 'welcome to vegas' sign, although i've been here countless times since birth.

i was never meant for heels. ever.

i was [this] close to buying this case. i was born to love british men/people.

night before the concert, we had some celebratory carrot cake. for Louis, of course. (oh, and my aunt and uncles birthdays..)

Now to the concert part. as i said before, our seats were absolutely incredible. (especially for what we paid) The night before, we went and picked up the holy tickets (i was sure to let my mom know that if she was to be mugged, i would save the tickets first, then her :) and found a picture of the stadium and the location of our seats:

All the girls made homemade t-shirts for the concert, with either all the boys, or their favorite.

(mine says "Kiss me, you're irish" and has a beautiful picture of Niall on it)

Auntie Kathy hooked us up with a limo for the trip there, and back! The driver's name was appropriately KEVIN:) and we sang 'up all night' and made fun of the half-dressed people that walked the street the whole way there.

at this point, my emotions are starting to take over my body completely.

We arrived at planet hollywood quite early and were graciously greeted with 'i LOVE your shirt!'s and 'see you at the concert!'s and a loong line was already beginning to form. All the girls refused to eat, in the very likely event that we throw up everything in our stomach the second they enter the stage. *take note. at this point, i am in the very same building as one direction..*
So planet hollywood is a huge-o mall as well, so we walked around and i shopped some more for my coveted Ray-bans and my mom continued to try and convince me to not spend that much on sunglasses. We also wandered about the Bellagio and the strip.

 us with aunt kathy <3

Soon, the clock struck 6:30 and i missed my call from Bailey :,( so i pretty much had only 12 year olds to vent to. But i made due. As we walked down the loooooong line of screaming fans, we noticed tons of posters, stripes, hysterics, frustrated passerbys, and smiles. mostly smiles.
p.s. i belong to a crazy group called 'Directioners' and its kinda like you're family. i quite like it.
we finally found the end of a line (right in front of a strip club, of course) and waited. The line started to move and my heart was beating most unhealthy-like. We grabbed our tickets and headed to our seats. Going down, down, down to the floor is such an amazing feeling, just knowing how close i was going to be? mindblowing.

So we took our seats and waited. i made some friends with the people around me. the girls behind me had amazing Niall hats and Louis shirts. And informed us that they had dinner with none other than OLLY MURS just hours previous. ~jealousy~ The first act came out, some girl named Kamryn or something. She was good, but wasn't one direction. poor girl. Then she introduced OLLY MURS! <3 Who i am an absolute fan of! I will soon post my favorite video of him and my Nialler. Olly was absolutely amazing. such an entertainer and a.m.a.z.i.n.g. dancer. My mom fell head over heels for him. After Olly there was of course an intermission. (and this whole time i'm thinking "Zayn is brushing his teeth and Liam is doing his press-ups!! :D )

And then.... the lights go out and ear-splitting screams can be heard from every direction, including my trachea. Then ONE... DIRECTION pops up on the screen and i am so thankful i had nothing in my stomach to throw up, and took multiple bathroom stops on the way. The countdown begins... and i didnt know the human body was capable of so many emotions!! i couldnt handle it. i just stood there with my hand over my mouth for most of the time... Then you see them run on stage (Zayn in the lead) and your dreams have just come true. p.s. they are much bigger in person? i'm like 'woah, i usually just see the youtube version of you..' anyway, i will definitely post my video of them entering the stage once i figure out how to do so. Then NA NA NA begins and fireworks go off and tears start to flow. They're beautiful voices fill the stadium and everyone is just completely satisfied.

The concert was seriously wonderful. My mom and aunt even had a blast. My mom said, and i quote 'I love that they just be themselves on stage. That the have no choreography or direction. They just do their thing' Me too, mum.
My Niall is just a ball of energy!! He never quits! he is such a charmer to the audience and made us laugh multiple times! His guitar playing?... to die for. And he is muuuch more good looking in person (if thats even possible) I will never forget when they finish singing their first song and Harry says "Las Vegas." with his unbearable accent and the place went wild. His voice? even better in person. i promise. Him and Louis were definitely mischevious on stage while trying to run off stage (but getting busted by the bouncers) and stealing hats and placing bras and other langerie atop eachothers heads:) i'd expect nothing less.
And how can you not love Liam? with his constant appreciation of the fans and his charming good looks and his unbelievably amazing voice.
Zayn and his poor wrist:( but he was as ruggedly handsome as always and seriously surprised me with how much he has grown vocally. his echos and trills make you stop and stare. literally.

Anyways, thats my One Direction experience. and it was unforgettable at that. I cannot wait to repeat it July 25th 2013.
do not fret. videos to come.

youth conference

dear journal,

thursday, friday, and saturday was my 4th year of youth conference and it did not disappointt. i have a really great ward that can be super fun and quirky but i swear, we have the strongest testimonies around. youth conference is a great reminder that i'm not alone. that there are people just like me trying to do good and be the best disciple possible.

me. megan. ali. bishop. brian. pat. alex. emmett. smith. decided to wake up at 5:30 in the morning and hike the 400 ft. cliff facing our cabin.
 ~sunrise~

you think im at the edge...

...but then ali pops out and ruins the illusion :)

building boats

patty.

the competition... we lost.

i know, i know. i shouldve taken tons more pictures, but i technically wasnt supposed to have penelope with me. we stayed at 'camelot' and had a blast. we swam in rivers, built boats, made bows and arrows, and grew closer together.
