Fresh start
Dear journal,
First tournament as a senior was a success.
Undefeated (-1) in our first tournament.
Pretty much kicked trash.
Brought home an awkwardly awesome trophy.
Woot woot.

Humble abode
Dear journal,
This is my room. Thought I might like pictures of it someday when I'm old and grey. It's been good to me and though sometimes scary at night, and impossible to keep clean, it holds many good memories. It's going to be weird moving out and going to college. i can't believe I'm old enough to even be thinking about it. But the day is soon approaching when I'll have to sadly grow up.
Not exactly looking forward to it.

London 2012
Things i've learned from the olympics:
1. Not only does it bring countries together, but families together snuggled by the telly.
2. I would give anything to be a gymnast.
3. Dear athletes, just the fact that you can call yourself an olympian should be enough. a medal is only icing on the cake.
4. Upsets happen. nothing is certain.
5. Swimmers bodies are lovely.
6. Michael Phelps >>> Ryan Lochte.
7. Gabby Douglas's name also spells USAgold.
8. Water polo is weird.
9. Becky's cousin is Jake Gibb. (beach vball player)
10. Favorites to watch: Gymnastics&swimming.
11. Are the athletes from Kenya getting fed?
12. I find that most all the athletes do not speak the same language, inspiring.
13. Olympic commercials >>> super bowl commercials.
14. Usain Bolt could not have a more epic and perfect name.
15. One does not even begin to fathom the pressure put on an olympic athlete.

why my friends are better than yours
we can hold an entire conversation solely on movie quotes.
not just friends, but sisters.
heroes as older brothers.
sublime taste in music.
we all love 5 boys.
burping contests. (its okay to throw up in their sink)
calling eachother horrid and demeaning names, ending in fits of laughter.
impossible to offend.
live 5 steps away.
we grow fat together. (wendy's, culvers, roxberry, chili's)
trustworthy.
can spend a whole summer apart, yet, the second we see eachother, nothing has changed.
glitter toes.
drama? what is drama?
who needs to meet face to face? we can be besties w/o even meeting eachother.
nerds.
not afraid to snuggle.
LOTR is not a movie, nor just a book. its our religion.
own wands.
their parents=my parents.
athletic.
english is our second language. sarcasm is our first.
pants? who needs pants?
teddy bears.
beautiful.
snapchat, instagram, twitter, FB, Tango, Hey tell, face time > texting.
every night is movie night.
basement workouts.
testimonies.
tandem rides.
kitchen dance parties.
completely normal to hang with their parents.
rare sleepovers (and when they actually happen, giggle and scream like 3rd graders)
laugh till we cry.
cry till we laugh.
youtube for hours on end.
blog stalking.
summers to last a lifetime.
friends come and go. be sure to know the true ones. keep them close. and the not-so-true ones? dont let them waste your time.
you deserve better.
demand better.

Day at the pool with my best friend!.. oh and Ali was there too;)
Days when we both don't work are just grand.
First day this year at the pool: August 1st. Pretty sad, eh?
Al may just have gotten me hooked on Dr. Pepper. And I do just love watching Gracie do her underwater tricks.

but i love this movie.
